For those readers who follow my Blog on a regular basis; you know where I live now. For those who don’t; I am living since two month in Vietnam, more precisely in Saigon; also know as Ho Chi Minh City. But that is another story I do not like go into. Apparently it is politically sensitive for some, especially for those in the north. However, I am not about to write a political easy or even go into details what is wrong and right here in this part of the world; more, I like to write about a small piece of Heaven I almost missed out and that’s right on my foot step! La Creperie, The Brittany Reastaurant in le Thanh Ton, District 1, is locted just around the corner where I live in Saigon. Numerous times I passed by without giving it a second thought until the other day, when I was looking for a new restaurant nearby. Stepping into this little café it seems first like being transformed into another world. But then again; anything French will fit just fine here in Saigon. To my surprise it had a wonderful menu with plenty of savoury dishes to choose from ; Salmon, Chicken, Mushroom, variety of Cheeses and more. I was lectured by a very attentive server that this restaurant caters authentic Galletes and Crepes from Brittany, France. Ordering a cold Tiger anyway, I chose a Gallete with Salmon and Potato with cream and cheese, which was packed with flavours of top quality ingredients. Every bite was just like in a dream, smooth and tasty. Of course dessert had to be Crepes with apple compote and caramel; with a good cup of coffee this was just the perfect ending.

Needless to say; not long after that, actually it was the next day, I found myself back again for more La Creperie. This time on its balcony, overlooking Le Thanh Ton Street. I went for the “Big One”; Sausage, Bacon, Egg, Cheese, Mushroom, Potato, Tomato and Salad; to whole yard, the mother of Crepes! Wonderful, balanced flavours, great combination of quality ingredients, a full meal for it self!
