TheAddress

Emaar’s newest hotel just opened its door a few days ago and I went to check it out! The Address Downtown Burj Dubai, formerly Burj Dubai Lake Hotel & Serviced Apartments, is a super tall skyscraper rising 306 meters (1,004 feet) alongside the Dubai Mall, the Old Town, and the Burj Dubai Lake in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This hotel and residential tower will contain a total of 63 floors. The tower is another super tall structure in the massive development named Downtown Burj Dubai, which includes the centerpiece super tall building, the Burj Dubai. The tower was topped out in April 2008, becoming the 6th-tallest building in Dubai and the 36th-tallest in the world. Driving up to the entrance is already impressive; massive and a huge building next to the Mall of Dubai, the largest shopping mall in the world. Walking though the lobby one could not miss the architecture and interior design of this hotel; every wall, corner and room was designed individually. At an imposing 306 meters in height, the 63-storey hotel is located at the heart of the most prestigious square kilometer on the planet. The hotel is the first and flagship property from Emaar Hospitality Group’s home-grown brand, The Address Hotels + Resorts and is the second tallest tower in Downtown Burj Dubai, next only to Burj Dubai, the world’s tallest building. The contemporary hotel has 196 rooms and suites, and a rich array of amenities that appeal to both business and leisure travellers. Wearing an elegant cladding, the striking architecture is reminiscent of the art deco era and the tower is creatively illuminated at night. Mr. Marc Dardenne, Chief Executive Officer, Emaar Hospitality Group, said: ‘The defining character of The Address Hotels + Resorts brand is the location advantage we offer, the tangible guest benefits we provide and the service standards that we assure at each of our hotels. For the convenience of guests all check-ins are processed at the airport lounge or in the limousine en route to the hotel or in the guestrooms upon arrival. As an added commitment to offer that extra special touch to guests, the hotel has partnered with the world’s largest private member’s club and concierge service – Quintessentially, who are renowned for meeting even the most extravagant of requests. We decided to lunch at Fanaris, the all day dining restaurant on the ground level. Most of the staff I knew anyway as they all came from the Shangri-La Dubai. (I wonder who is left over there?) Chef Waleed and Chef Atef looked after us and my choice of Laksa noodles was indeed a good one. Chef Patrice surprised us with a great dessert made with berries in seasons and sorbet. All the rooms at The Address, Downtown Burj Dubai vary in design and aesthetics thus assuring guests highly individualized choices. Apart from spectacular views of Downtown Burj Dubai and the awe-inspiring tower, the contemporary rooms feature lifestyle amenities such as a large flat screen television and iPod docking station.
