Window to Thailand

window-of-thailand.jpg The Kingdom of Thailand has been always a fascinating destination in Asia for me and if I think back it was one of the first countries I have visited. Since then I been countless times traveling the country and even worked for two years in Bangkok, opening the famous Peninsula Bangkok Hotel. I just love Bangkok, one has to love or hate this city who never sleeps, there are just too many places to visit to get bored. Actually Bangkok has the longest name for a city but most will call it Krungthep for short
Krung Thep Mahanakhon Amon Rattanakosin Mahinthara Yuthaya Mahadilok Phop Noppharat Ratchathani Burirom Udomratchaniwet Mahasathan Amon Piman Awatan Sathit Sakkathattiya Witsanukam Prasit
thailandtwo.jpg Food has always been important to Thais and it seems to me eating is always on top of their priority list. Where ever one goes there is a small stand deep frying some prawns or cooking some soups in bowls. I just love the smell of the Soi’s in Bangkok. thailandfour.jpg Phuket must be one of my favorite Islands in Thailand, one hours flight from Bangkok. There is a small beach called Lampsing, off the beaten track and there is Da Ali’s restaurant, on the Beach!! thailandthree.jpg Ali has been living for years in Italy, therefore cooks Italian food on the beach and the best Thai food. It is just amazing to watch them how they get the best and freshest ingredients together in a wok for a meal fit for a king.thailandsix.jpg
