For some time I followed Food Blogs like ChubbyHubby and thought to myself if I ever could start my own Blog it would have to be food related. Photography has always been my passion and working in the food industry I specialized myself in Food photography. SugarHeadBlog was born through this evolution. Born in Weisslingen, Switzerland I worked in many countries and continents as Pastry Chef for some major hotel companies like Peninsula, Mandarin Oriental, Four Seasons and Shangri-La. As I was living six years in Sydney, Australia is now my base. Currently I reside in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

I have been working in the following cities:

Zurich, Jeddah, Oslo, Dubai, Istanbul, Sydney, Singapore, Manila, Bangkok, Riyadh, Kuala Lumpur, Saigon, Tokyo, Cairo and Dubai

I can live on yogurt’s for weeks; I just love them but not all are to my taste buts. Being from Switzerland I am proud to say we have one of the best and famous yogurts at home. That does not mean I have to eat them even though I am bias to CH products. Since I am in Dubai I always keep coming back to buy Goshua yogurt’s and desserts in these fancy clay pots. By gosh they are not cheap, ten Dhirams a pop but you get a pot for free and its not a plastic or glass one! Again today, after my weekly shopping I ended up transferring these earthen pots from my shopping bags into my fridge and by looking at it I see only Goshua products next to my beloved Pocari Sweat drinks from Japan! I just love those yogurt’s and desserts, they are smooth, not overly sweet and feel more like artisan products.

Goshua was created in 1960 as a family business in calle San Ann in Pamplona, where Victoriano Saralegui  began to sell cow”s milk and to produce curd from sheep”s milk. At the beginning of the seventies the business moved to the Plaza de Errotazar in Pamplona where their sons, who had joined the management team, began to produce various top-quality desserts in earthenware pots.

By 1996 production had multiplied and the company had diversified and consolidated. It was then that the business moved to Iraizoz, in the heart of the Ulzama Valley; a wonderful area with never-ending green meadows whose flocks of sheep and cattle bring life to the valley.”

For years and years I lived Starbucks. There was not a single day I had not at least a Cafe Latte. In Tokyo if one ask for direction one gets told how many Starbucks down the road and how many to the left until the building one is searching for. It was so convenient; I had a Starbucks card which could be topped up with thousands of Yen for your cupa. The whole scenario changed while living in Cairo; there was not a single Starbucks in town, guess not in the entire country! My quest for the perfect coffee was challenging since local coffee shops did not cater good coffee. I used to travel to Dubai for shopping and brought coffee to Cairo. Well, when I moved to Dubai finally all changed again. Before and after work I got my tribble tall latte at Starbucks and the whole world was again in right order. Until I visited my brother in Switzerland; he had a Nespresso machine at his home and that piece of wonder churned out the best espresso I had in a very long time!

Back home in Dubai I searched for a Nespresso dealer and found after weeks one who promptly delivered this piece of coffeine equipment. Ever since my machine is switched on and serves the best espresso there is. (I have not been at Starbucks since nine month and I don’t regret it)
